I love the smell of software in the morning
My family finds it odd that I watch Blow Out. Why would I care about a show about hair dressers? Well, besides the really well-kept Beverly Hills women and the occasional super model, the real point of the show is Jonathan. He really is "all about the hair." As he says several times a show, he "just wants to do heads, man." He is so passionate about what he does. He's living his personal dream. He has so many great lines, such as "Hair is like people, it needs company." My favorite, which he manages to get in at least once an episode is "I love the smell of hair products in the morning." it is so corny and yet it is so real for him. He and his schtick have reached some type of metaphysical unity. I respect anyone who cares that much about what they do. I once felt that way about software. Thankfully, I'm starting to again. I had once thought that I'd never find that again, after the retail market died, and then the Web died. I used to tell people, I'm like a musician who can't play music. Watching Jonathan makes me want to be a software entrepreneur again and run at 1,000 miles an hour.
